Forma
We all lead busy lives with various commitments and with some of mine I have to book procedures accordingly – can’t be in full make-up and on your TV screens the day after with some of them because they leave your face sensitive and red. My first procedure was the FORMA and it has no down time and I felt the results the next day. FORMA tightens your skin with radio frequency and on average you’ll receive between 3 to 6 treatments. The picture below shows the machine that is used. It looks very “serious”.
The FORMA, which is a radiofrequency electrical current device, provides a gentle bulk heating of the entire dermis and subcutaneous tissue, heating the tissue to the desired temperature and controlling that temperature for approximately 30 minutes. The controlled bulk heating of the soft tissue of the brow, cheek, jowl and neck realigns old collagen and stimulates new collagen, ground substances and elastin so that you achieve a lifted appearance of the face. That’s why I felt the tightening.
Before the procedure begins the technician slathers ultrasound gel on your face (I’ll have to get a photo of that next time) and then uses the wand below, places it on your face, and the wand emits the radio frequency pulses. The only time I felt any discomfort was when the wand was placed under my chin, the skin is thin under there and sensitive.
The FORMA, non-ablative Radiofrequency heating system is used to provide a gentle but effective bulk heating to the skin of the brow, cheek and neck resulting in further lifting and tightening.
The FORMA moves gently on the surface of the skin, heating the skin to 42 degrees and then sustaining this bulk heating at the therapeutic end point for optimal new collagen and elastin production.
