InMode's deepest fractional RF body handpiece. The Morpheus8 Body 3D delivers sub-dermal adipose tissue remodelling to up to 8mm depth via a 40-pin microneedling tip, with three programmable delivery modes — Cycle, Fixed, and Burst — for precise multi-layer RF energy deployment across larger body zones.

All Skin TypesSafe on Fitzpatrick I–VI with appropriate energy settings and bleaching protocol
Morpheus8 Body is designed for larger treatment zones where deeper subdermal RF energy delivery is required. The 40-pin 3D Smart Frame provides efficient coverage across broad body areas in fewer passes.
Abdomen
Subdermal fat coagulation and skin tightening for the full abdominal zone. For subcutaneous fat less than 1cm use 2–4mm depth; for fat greater than 1cm use 4–7mm for deep treatment. Energy levels 20–30 in Cycle mode or 15–20 in Burst/Fixed mode.
Upper & Back Thighs, Buttocks
Tissue remodelling and circumference reduction of the upper and posterior thighs and gluteal region. Energy levels 15–30 in Cycle mode; 15–20 in Burst/Fixed. Depth selection based on subcutaneous tissue thickness.
Lower Thighs
Fractional remodelling of the inner and outer lower thigh. Lower energy settings (10–25 Cycle; 10–20 Burst/Fixed) due to thinner tissue and proximity to bone. Caution advised near the knee.
Arms
Upper arm skin laxity, bingo wing appearance, and subdermal fat remodelling. For facial areas, neck, arms, or hands switch to the Morpheus8 handpiece with 24-pin tip for more precise treatment.
Flanks & Back
Targeted subdermal treatment of the flanks and back for circumference reduction and skin tightening. Depth and energy selection based on tissue depth in the treatment zone.
Stretch Marks & Scars
Fractional RF remodelling of stretch marks and body scars — delivering multi-level collagen stimulation and tissue contraction to improve texture, colour, and surface irregularity.
Treatment Parameters
Clinical parameters from the official InMode Morpheus8 Body 3D Quick Reference Guide (September 2022). Treatment depth should be selected based on the indication and the thickness of subcutaneous fat in the treatment zone.

Burst Mode — Depth Layer Delivery
When using Burst mode, RF energy is automatically deployed at 2–3 tissue layers within a single cycle. Use a 30% lower energy setting when using Burst mode or stacking pulses — accumulated bulk heating delivers enhanced efficacy.

Important Clinical Notes
Use firm pressure and complete contact with the tip. Move the handpiece to adjacent areas with approximately 30% overlap. Do not slide the tip — lift and place for each pulse. When switching from Cycle/Fixed mode at 2–3mm to Burst mode, depth settings automatically adjust to 4mm. Stop anticoagulants 7–10 days prior to treatment if medically permitted. For dark skin types, do not exceed energy level 20 and follow a bleaching regimen prior to treatment.

FAQs
Common questions about Morpheus8 Body 3D treatments. Contact STERN Laser for clinical guidance specific to your practice.
In Cycle mode, the needles penetrate and retract with every pulse — the standard single-depth delivery mode. In Fixed mode, needles remain continuously deployed at the set depth while the footswitch is held, allowing pulse stacking at the same site; needles retract when the footswitch is released. Burst mode automatically delivers RF energy at 2–3 tissue layers within a single cycle — the needles stop at each depth on the way out and fire at that layer, providing efficient multi-depth treatment with a single pulse. Burst mode requires a 30% reduction in energy setting relative to Cycle mode.
Depth selection is based on the thickness of subcutaneous fat in the treatment zone. For areas where the fat layer is less than 1cm, use 2–4mm depth for subdermal treatment. For areas where fat is 1cm or more, use 4–7mm depth for deeper treatment. Bony areas such as the knee require reduced energy and shallower depths of 2–3mm — and zones with extremely thin skin over high-curvature bone should be avoided entirely.
Expected endpoints include minimal to substantial erythema and oedema, often with a tingling heat sensation and minor pin-point bleeding. When using deep treatment settings, patients should expect mild to significant bruising that develops over the 24–48 hours post-treatment and typically resolves within 5–10 days. Apply healing or antibiotic ointment immediately post-treatment for 1–3 days, then transition to moisturiser and SPF once needle holes have closed.
Treatment frequency depends on the energy levels used. Higher energy treatments typically require 1–3 sessions spaced 3–6 weeks apart. Lower energy treatments may require 2–4 sessions at the same interval. Maintenance is recommended every approximately 6 months to sustain results as collagen remodelling matures.
Yes. Morpheus8 Body is suitable for all skin types including Fitzpatrick V and VI. When treating dark skin, start with minimal energy settings and increase gradually. Do not exceed energy level 20 on darker skin types, and a bleaching regimen prior to treatment is recommended to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Multiple anaesthesia options are available. Topical anaesthetic applied for 45–60 minutes is the standard approach, with energy and depth limited by patient tolerance. Some patients require intramuscular pain injection or oral pain control for higher energy treatments. Pro-Nox nitrous oxide delivery can be used as a supplement. For the highest energy levels and deepest treatments, local anaesthetic with or without tumescent is available — tumescent is reserved for 7mm depth treatments only and should be performed exclusively by physicians with prior operating room experience.
Platform Compatibility
Compatible Workstations
Morpheus8 Body is compatible with two InMode workstations available through STERN Laser. The handpiece connects to either platform and delivers identical clinical performance regardless of which workstation drives it.
