For the longest time we wondered what the world (including events like IMCAS) would look like after COVID-19. The answer is – more full-on than before. Three of the Sternlaser Team Members traveled to Paris to attend one of the (if not thé biggest) plastic surgery and dermatology congresses in the world, also known as IMCAS. They share a few of their findings:
Find Your Field
To be a specialist in your field is not a new thing, but physicians are even more focused on being an absolute guru on one specific treatment even within their speciality. And this became very clear during the congress. For e.g. a plastic surgeon that found a popularity with breast implants, would only see patients with the same need. No-one else.
From Our Suppliers:
SkinPen
FDA-approved microneedling device company, SkinPen has launched its new post-treatment Premium Biocellulose Masques. The masks are designed to provide cooling for patients’ skin following any facial procedures that can cause discomfort, such as microneedling, photodynamic therapy, dermabrasion, lasers, peels and other ablative procedures. Premium Biocellulose Masques are available for ordering.
InMode
It is no secret that InMode, leading global provider of innovative medical technologies, does not hold back when it comes to R&D expenditure and during the congress they launched their new ophthalmology platform, EnvisionRF. In addition to this game-changing equipment the ophthalmology industry, EmpowerRF, a platform focused on women’s wellness, is also becoming a physician favourite.
Lutronic
One of the leading innovators in advanced aesthetic and medical laser and related technology, Lutronic, is slowly but surely becoming the leader for laser technology and it shows in their education and communication. Their symposium on the new generation of vascular laser treatments- “The Future is Green” was ground-breaking. Lutronic is known for many devices used globally (ClarityII, DermaV) but Hollywood Spectra still steals the show.
The Power of Social Media
The importance of social media seems to be a topic in almost each conversation and symposium, but it is more than that. Patients are willing to pay top dollar to receive the “perfect look” and “the perfect look” is perceived by what is put on social media. The unfortunate fact is that “the perfect look” is ever-evolving and to keep up with the demand, the best advice would be to be active on social media.
Growth in the Industry
One factor that no physician, clinic owner/manager or therapist have to dwell on, is that this is a dying industry. With a global growth projection of more than 11%, one can feel at ease that the demand is here to stay sky-rocketing.
